Overview
Abode Services, one of the largest nonprofits working to end homelessness in the Bay Area, is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator for programs in Alameda County.
About The Role: The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for the provision of housing stabilization services to households who are homeless and/or low income. The coordinator provides counseling, refers to financial/credit counseling and legal services, and develops an individualized housing plan that includes a path to permanent housing stability subsequent to financial assistance. This role also coordinates services to ensure participants are connected to other necessary supportive services.
Responsibilities- Provide housing stabilization services to homeless and/or low-income households.
- Offer counseling and referrals to financial/credit counseling and legal services.
- Develop individualized housing plans with a path to permanent housing stability following financial assistance.
- Coordinate services to connect participants with required supportive services.
- Develop a community calendar of educational, recreational, and civic engagement opportunities and events.
- Build collaborative relationships with local service providers and community agencies; maintain positive relationships with surrounding neighborhoods.
- Collaborate with property management to foster an environment that promotes resident ownership and community.
- Assist residents in retaining housing and increasing independence by linking to crisis intervention, rehab, income support and benefits, employment assistance, health services, substance recovery, and family involvement.
- Provide referrals for additional assessment or treatment services for areas of concern (developmental, learning disabilities, behavior, school readiness, family violence, substance exposure).
- Provide crisis intervention as needed and when requested by property management and/or program participants.
- Maintain and secure comprehensive case files and prepare/submit programmatic reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or related field, or equivalent field experience.
- 1 year of case management experience providing services to homeless or low-income individuals and/or families.
- Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, clean DMV record, and use of a personal vehicle when required.
- Ability to drive and transport participants when required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings when required.
- $28.85 to $32.00 per hour
