ILS Instructor

Journey to Thrive ILS is looking for a passionate and dedicated ILS Instructor to join our team in Oakland, CA! In this rewarding role, you'll empower individuals with developmental disabilities to build life skills, gain independence, and thrive in their communities. • Provide Independent Living Skills (ILS) instruction to clients in home and community settings
• Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each client's goals and needs
• Teach daily living skills including budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, and community navigation
• Document client progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date service records
• Collaborate with regional centers, families, and support teams to ensure coordinated care
• Transport and accompany clients to community appointments and activities as needed
• Advocate for client rights and promote self-determination and independence

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a human services field
• Knowledge of Independent Living Skills (ILS) and regional center services preferred
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
• Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
• Must pass background check and TB test
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in social services or related field a plus
