Role Summary
UCOP is seeking a senior-level AWS Developer with hands‑on experience building and supporting cloud‑based applications using AWS, Python, and Java. This role focuses on designing, building, and supporting scalable, secure, and cost‑effective solutions within a modern AWS environment for finance applications.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, deploy, and support AWS‑based applications using Python and Java.
- Implement solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, Athena, Glue, S3, and Cloud Front.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Cloud Formation, CDK, and Terraform.
- Build reusable, scalable, and cost‑efficient components following cloud and serverless best practices.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and support automated deployments.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Perform routine troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, and support documentation.
- 8+ years of experience in application development with a focus on AWS cloud solutions.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services including VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, Glue, and ECS/Fargate.
- Proficiency in Python and Java.
- Experience with Docker and container‑based deployments.
- Strong SQL skills, including advanced queries; experience with SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within a technical team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/Type Script and Node.js preferred.
- Experience developing serverless and event‑driven architectures on AWS.
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Cloud Formation, CDK, Terraform).
- Experience with source control and application build and deployment using tools such as Git, Maven, shell scripting, and cloud‑based pipelines.
