Local CDL A Driver (Open)

Location: Oakland, CA (RDA) - Welding equipment rental

Airgas is hiring for a CDL A Driver in Oakland! The driver is the “face of Airgas” and will safely and efficiently deliver welding equipment, generators, parts, supplies, and accessories using a CDL A Flatbed truck.

• Home every night
• Pay: $27/hr – $33/hr (depending on experience)
• Monday‑Friday schedule starting at 6 am‑7 am
• Position will eventually move to Hayward (expected June/July)
• Modern fleet with On‑Board Computers, collision‑avoidance, camera, GPS navigation

• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
• Load and unload truck daily with gas cylinders and supplies
• Maintain courteous and professional relationships with customers
• Make deliveries in a timely manner
• Safely strap equipment
• Use a forklift while on Airgas property
• Frequently exit truck as required

• Valid Class A CDL with Airbrake endorsements
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two traffic convictions or two at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years (or a combination of one conviction and one at‑fault accident)
• No DUI or controlled substance conviction within the last 7 years
• Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment
• Must be able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with material‑handling equipment
• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 5 years, or possess a certificate of completion from a trucking school within the last 12 months

• Forklift experience
