Must be ok with a phone screening with Bluecrew (please respond to our team in a timely manner) and in person interview on 8/4 and 8/5 with Unity meals manager prior to being scheduled.

Please go into the branch at 1673 Industrial Pkwy W, Hayward, CA 94544 on the following dates.

-Thursday July 30 and Friday July 31st from 9AM-4PM to complete your drug screen.

-Please let the branch know that you are there to drug screen for the Unity Meals job on Bluecrew.

Must be able to commit to the schedule for the entire school year if you are placed on the job. It's important that you make sure the schedule works for you because we rely on you to deliver school meals.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • · Must be able and willing to conform to all CDC, State, and Organization recommendations and policies for
  • safe food handling practices regarding COVID-19
  • · Check accurate count of coolers for the hub.
  • · Pack company vehicle with coolers and sides to be distributed
  • · Delivery of coolers to the hub location in company vehicle.
  • · Maintain proper food handling instructions by keeping food at proper temperatures.
  • · Complete and return all paperwork to the kitchen/office in a timely fashion.
  • · Clean the empty coolers received at the hub on return to the office each day.
  • · Assist with packing of next day coolers and cleaning in the kitchen/warehouse.
  • · Attend in-services and meetings as required.
  • · Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • · Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift coolers and/or move up to 70 lbs. Must be able to use both hands and
  • arms repetitively throughout the shift.
  • · Must show understanding of and passion for the mission of Unity Meals.
  • · Ability to interact in a positive manner with employees at all level of the organization
  • · Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • · Ability to work independently as well as be a team player
  • · Excellent organizational skills, sensitive to detail and deadlines in a multitasking environment
  • · Additional duties will be added/modified as the program grows

Work Conditions:

  • Hub drivers spend most of their time on the road inside the company vehicle. Loading and delivering, requires
  • working outside in hot, cold, or inclement weather. The noise level in the work environment can be from moderate to loud. The work environment will be ever changing, with staff and volunteers all sharing the same work area. There will occasionally be wet floors, extreme temperatures, moving objects, and loud noises. The
  • employee is expected to work around a normal kitchen environment which contains strong smells such as but not limited to food and sanitation chemicals

Qualifications:

  • · Reliable transportation
  • · Valid driver’s license
  • · Excellent driving record
  • · Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • · Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment

Driving

When working on a Driving Job through Bluecrew, you must be 21 years and older, are expected to bring a valid driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance to your assignment, and meet our motor vehicle record (MVR) and drug screening standards.

In addition you may be expected to do any and all of the following:

  • Operate a large or small vehicle on highways, side streets, neighborhoods, and other motor ways in a safe, courteous, and legal manner; including box trucks, flat beds, vans, SUVs, or other motor vehicles.
  • Working on your feet in between stops or when loading the vehicle in preparation for deliveries
  • Safely lifting and moving heavy boxes or other heavy items, up to 50 pounds in weight
  • Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities as required by the immediate supervisor
  • Comfortable working around large trucks, pallet jacks, or other moving equipment as needed
  • Interfacing with customers and managers in a professional and courteous manner
  • There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.

It is important to Bluecrew that you go home in the same healthy state that you came to work in, so please do not accept this assignment if you cannot fulfill all of the above duties.
