Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Yard Hostler to support operations at two nearby locations in Oakland. The employee will work between an indoor warehouse and an outdoor yard location, with the daily schedule varying based on operational needs.

In many cases, the employee may begin the day at the warehouse and spend the second half of the day at the yard. Reliable transportation between both locations is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts safely in both warehouse and outdoor yard environments.
• Operate higher-capacity forklifts ranging from approximately 15,000 to 30,000 lbs.
• Move and handle high-value and highly fragile cargo with extreme care.
• Support loading, unloading, staging, and movement of materials.
• Operate a Yard Hostler/Yard Goat when required.
• Travel between the two Oakland locations during the workday as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and site-specific operating requirements.
• Perform physical material-handling duties, including lifting items weighing up to 75 lbs.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous forklift operating experience.
• Forklift certification preferred; site-specific forklift training/certification will also be provided.
• Experience operating higher-capacity forklifts strongly preferred.
• Yard Hostler/Yard Goat experience or certification preferred.
• Ability to complete specialized Yard Goat training if not already certified.
• Experience handling high-value, fragile, or sensitive cargo strongly preferred.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between both Oakland locations during the workday.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and proper material-handling procedures.
