Dispatch Lead

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dispatch Lead to oversee daily dispatch operations in a fast-paced third-party logistics (3PL) environment. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, supervising dispatch personnel, ensuring accurate scheduling, and driving on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent problem-solving abilities, a customer-focused mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure efficient workflow, accurate scheduling, and timely deliveries.

Supervise, mentor, and train dispatch team members to maintain high performance and adherence to company procedures.

Monitor delivery schedules and proactively address delays, route changes, and operational exceptions.

Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery status, scheduling updates, and issue resolution.

Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to optimize routes, maximize fleet utilization, and reduce transportation costs.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable transportation regulations.

Investigate and resolve delivery issues, damaged shipments, customer concerns, and service disruptions.

Maintain accurate dispatch records, schedules, operational data, and performance metrics.

Prepare reports and provide operational updates to management.

Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency, productivity, and service quality.

Support continuous improvement initiatives that help reduce costs and improve operational performance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably within a 3PL environment; previous leadership or team lead experience is a plus.

Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and ERP platforms.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.

Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in both office and warehouse environments as needed.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, overtime, or other schedules based on business and operational requirements.
