We are seeking a motivated and high-potential Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This position is more than a traditional accounting role—it is an opportunity to develop into a future Controller within a diversified energy distribution company serving customers throughout Northern New England.

The successful candidate will work directly with an experienced Controller and gain exposure to financial reporting, operational analytics, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, business systems, and management reporting.

- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances
- Assist with audit and tax support activities
- Support inventory accounting and reconciliation processes
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Prepare financial and operational analyses
- Develop reporting and key performance indicators
- Participate in process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with operational and management teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- CPA or active pursuit of CPA
- Experience in distribution, logistics, energy, transportation, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive industries
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience working with ERP or operational business systems
- Interested in building a long-term career in finance leadership
- Curious about how businesses operate, not just how transactions are recorded
- Comfortable working with both financial and operational data
- Interested in developing management and leadership skills
- Motivated to take on increasing responsibility over time

Working Conditions / Physical Demands- Seated office work with freedom of movement; occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally).
