School Nurse-1:1-Messalonskee Middle School

Regional School Unit 18 is looking to hire a Nurse to work 1:1 with a student who has specified healthcare needs.

• Holds current Maine State Criminal History Records Check (endorsement 524)
• Registered Nurse License in the State of Maine

• Adjust to the daily needs of students
• Have strong communication skills with students, staff, parents, and community
• Work with a variety of resources and people to coordinate service to families in need
• Advise teachers on health matters
• Work jointly with the administration
• Maintain health records, required reports, and other needed paperwork
• Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, and appropriate agencies concerning school health issues and needs
• Organizes scheduled and assists in medical examinations for students and staff as necessary
• Prepares and submits monthly reports, building logs, and state agency reports as required
• Attend professional development
• Remain up to date on current health practices and trends as well as school nursing practices
