Position: CNA/Patient Care Tech - Family Centered Maternity Suite (Part-Time)

This position performs nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care activities, including personal, physical, and comfort needs of patients, under the supervision of a professional nurse. The role provides high-quality patient care in coordination with licensed medical staff.

Scheduled Weekly

Hours:

24 hours per week.

Shift: Varied (United States of America).

Exempt/Non-Exempt:
United States of America (Non-Exempt).

Compensation Range: $15.68 - $23.51 per hour. Position is eligible for shift differentials based on shift worked and eligible for overtime pay hours over 40 hours per week.

Company: GRMC Garrett Regional Medical Center.

Cost Center: 17 GRMC Nursing Obstetrics and Obgyn.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
  • Current Certification issued by the state where services will be performed:
  • MD:
    Certified Nursing Assistant through the Maryland Department of Health.
  • OH:
    Nurse's Aide Certification through the Ohio Department of Health.
  • PA:
    Nurse's Aide Certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
  • WV:
    Nurse's Aide Certification through the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior patient care experience.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Observes and reports all patient concerns/changes in condition to the Nursing Staff immediately.
  • Assists the Nursing Staff with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
  • Records vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; records oral intake and outputs.
  • Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
  • Assists in indirect patient care by maintaining a clean and safe environment to help prevent and/or control infections and to provide safety for patients, visitors and employees.
  • Reports all necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel according to departmental procedure in a timely manner.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
  • Communicates with Nursing Staff regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or lack of understanding of diet changes.
  • Assists department with administrative tasks to support department operations.
  • Answers patient call bell and relays message to appropriate personnel.
