Description:
The district is seeking a leave replacement teacher for Physics at Ramapo High School.
Reports to:
District Supervisor of Science
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction based on the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for physics and physical science, incorporating a mix of direct teaching, interactive demonstrations, laboratory activities, simulations, and technology.
* Design and implement a variety of assessmentsincluding quizzes, tests, lab reports, projects, and performance tasksthen grade student work promptly, analyze results, and provide constructive feedback to support learning and track progress toward mastery.
* Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment by establishing clear behavioral expectations for all students.
* Work collaboratively with department colleagues, administrators, support staff, and parents/guardians to support student success, contribute to curriculum planning and improvement, communicate regularly about student progress, and participate in school-wide events, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate in Physics or Physical Science (or eligibility for certification).
* Strong knowledge of content at the high school level.
* Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction, including Google Classroom and other educational platforms.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Compensation:
Salary range is $311 to $340 per day, depending on level of experience and education. Contributory health benefits provided. Dates are March 16 through June 25, 2026.
