Reports to: Principal, Supervisor or designee

Description: The district anticipates the need for a full time, tenure-track French Language Teacher at Indian Hills High School for the  school year.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, proficiency-based lessons in French using communicative and immersive teaching methods
• Develop and implement curriculum that builds skills in interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication; incorporate authentic materials, technology, cultural projects, and real-world applications into instruction
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including heritage speakers and beginners; assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments aligned with proficiency guidelines
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages risk-taking and cultural respect; collaborate with world language colleagues on curriculum development, interdisciplinary units, and department initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid NJDOE teaching certification/license in World Language
  - French, or eligibility to obtain
• Experience at the high school level preferred
• Strong content knowledge and passion for teaching
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Compensation:

• Salary will be in accordance with the current RIHEA Agreement, currently between $61,665 and $110,439.
