Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, skilled DIR/Floortime Assistant to provide relationship-based developmental therapy to children and their families. The practitioner will implement the DIR/Floortime model to promote emotional, social, and cognitive growth in children with developmental differences. Services will be delivered both in our clinic and in clients homes, requiring flexibility, excellent communication, and a family-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities Therapy Services Conduct individualized DIR/Floortime sessions with children, focusing on emotional connection, engagement, and developmental progress.

Adapt therapeutic strategies to suit each childs unique developmental profile, sensory needs, and family priorities.

Use play-based, relationship-centered methods to target functional emotional developmental capacities (FEDCs).Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists) to support integrated care plans.

Engage in weekly supervision with DIR-Expert Practitioner that includes video analysis, reflective practice, and short readings. In-Office Services:

In-Home Services: LOCATED IN FERNANDINA BEACH, FLProvide DIR/Floortime therapy in the childs natural environment to support generalization of skills.

Adapt activities to available home space and family resources.

Assessment & Documentation Maintain accurate session notes, progress reports, and treatment plans according to clinic and payer requirements.

Use clear, strengths-based language in all documentation.

Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work or equivalent clinical experience.

Certification or advanced training in DIR/Floortime (preferred, or willingness to obtain).Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing challenges, or other developmental differences.

Strong interpersonal and play-based engagement skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for in-home visits.

Skills & Attributes Deep empathy and patience when working with children and families.

Strong observation and listening skills to incorporate the childs interest while guiding toward developmental goals.

Flexibility to adapt sessions based on childs emotional and sensory state.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Work Environment & Schedule In-home sessions scheduled according to family needs and practitioner availability.

May require occasional evening appointments.

Physical demands include sitting or kneeling on the floor, moving between play activities, and transporting lightweight therapy materials.
