Welder

Description

The Welder A sets up and operates welding equipment, reviews drawings, and leads welders to ensure quality production standards are met.

• Weld ferrous and non-ferrous materials (MIG/TIG/Stick)
• Set up jobs, tools, and materials; fabricate jigs/fixtures as needed
• Lead and train welders on quality and production methods
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Work independently to complete assignments and meet schedules
• Perform inspections and quality checks
• Communicate job status and support needs to the Shop Foreman

• Basic math and strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of safety standards
• Willingness to be cross-trained
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift, push, or pull up to 40lbs unassisted
• Works in a typical production environment; must be flexible to work additional hours as needed
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 2–3 years of welding experience in a machine shop (preferred)
• 1 year of supervisory or lead experience
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
