Junior High School Assistant Principal (West Junior High School, Fayette County) – Full Time, 10.5 months, Until Filled.
Job OverviewThe Junior High School Assistant Principal supports the instructional process, assists in directing overall site operations, services, and staff, and enforces established policies and regulatory requirements. The role coordinates school activities, addresses issues, and serves as a resource to staff and students.

Site Certified and Classified Staff.
- Master’s Degree in Education
- Appropriate Tennessee Administrator’s License
- Three years’ experience as a teacher
- Three years’ experience in an administrative role
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Effective decision making and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Assist the Principal with administrative duties involving student conduct, curriculum and instruction, operations, and community relations.
- Oversee planning, organizing, coordinating and participating in programs related to school operation including instruction, student discipline, and special education programs.
- Enforce applicable state and district codes, policies, and laws; administer discipline policies and safety programs.
- Manage school administrative functions such as facility maintenance, budget, staffing, and ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Supervise and evaluate performance of certificated and classified personnel; assign duties to faculty and staff to meet school objectives.
- Recruit, interview, and select new faculty and staff.
- Develop and administer disciplinary procedures, consult with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies, and resolve complaints.
- Maintain communication with community and parent groups and promote school activities.
- Organize and oversee student activities, extracurricular activities, and athletic events.
- Use social media to support communication and awareness of school activities.
- Maintain staff morale and perform other professional and administrative duties as assigned.
Performance is evaluated in accordance with the School Board’s policies on personnel evaluation.
Working Environment andPhysical Requirements
The job is performed in a standard office environment. Physical requirements include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, small amounts of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and fine finger dexterity.
