We are adding a Benefits Consultant to our growing team in Oakville to continue to drive our rapid growth and provide exceptional support to our clients. This role is fully on site.
As a Benefits Consultant , you will support business growth and client retention through your knowledge of group benefits solutions and your ability to build strong client relationships. The role will focus primarily on managing a block of clients but will also have some business development responsibility supporting the consulting team in the region. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to learn and grow progressively into a senior consultant role focused increasingly on business development.
The ideal candidate should be committed to providing a positive customer service and excited to be a part of growing and dynamic team.
The Benefits Consultant will:
Lead and manage the overall relationship of a block of clients including strategic consulting advice, service delivery, financial management, plan design, pricing strategies, analyzes trends, negotiate renewals, and benchmarkingDevelop and implement strategies and activities to support client retentionMaintain positive relations with clients and client decision makersManage client expectations and effectively deal with concerns or issuesIdentify the client’s Group Insurance risks and recommend appropriate plan design and cost mitigation strategiesDevelop annual client plans to ensure clients are receiving value added service and that the work being produced aligns with client goals and objectivesAccountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projectsIdentify creative opportunities for growth within client block through multi-product selling and providing enhanced value through unique solution generation.Active participation in prospecting for and securing new clients from leads generated through competitive bid sites, targeted proactive networking and referralsManage clients from expected growth from sales teamContinuing education to maintain a high level of knowledge of employee benefit legislation, administrative issues, plan rules, claim management and client specific proceduresParticipate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. in order to promote services and keep abreast of industry trends and activitiesRepresent People Corporation in the market and be a successful brand ambassador.Maintain an expert knowledge of the complete line of People Corporation products and services.Foster and develop positive supplier relations to enable strong partnerships for clientsBuild and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, shared services, practice areas, etc. across the organization.To be successful as a Benefits Consultant, you will need:
5+ years progressive experience in Group Benefits in a client facing or consulting capacity providing strategic and innovative solutions to clients' complex benefits challengesDeep expertise and understanding of the Group Benefits industry including funding and underwriting arrangementsAdvanced analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skillsExcellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentA positive attitude and strong team player who works well with internal and external stakeholdersA solution and results oriented individual who demonstrates excellent problem solving skillsAbility to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified in a timely mannerProficiency and comfort working with multi-channel technologyCompletion of or the ability to complete the Life License Qualification Program (within 180 days of joining)Availability to travel on an as needed basisValid Driver’s License and access to a VehicleGroup Benefits Associate (GBA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation or currently working towards it is an assetWhat’s in it for you:
