Snapshot of Your Day

As a member of the Grid Technologies Services Region Canada Business Controlling team you will be responsible for fulfilling both accounting, forecasting, and reporting requirements while coordinating, reviewing, analyzing, and consolidating feedback to your internal customers and stakeholders.

You will gain valuable experience and knowledge in these areas while working with several cross‑functional teams and multiple levels of management to improve existing processes and approaches.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Act as a member of business controlling team providing transparency and developing, enhancing, and automating processes to support financial performance.
  • Perform P&L reviews, financial planning, forecasting, controlling, and consolidating budget data (including top‑down and bottom‑up plans) while ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy Financial Reporting Guidelines and other accounting standards.
  • Support month‑end closing and reporting, including journal entry preparation, validations review and clearing, quarterly controls, and miscellaneous reporting.
  • Perform account reconciliations and free‑cash‑flow analysis.
  • Support quarterly and annual EY audit.
  • Prepare various financial reports and presentations for senior management while compiling and reviewing financial plans and budgets at complex levels.
What You Bring
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of successful experience in accounting and/or finance, demonstrating the ability to handle multiple topics and manage time effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy; self‑driven and resourceful to achieve goals and be proactive in problem solving; flexible and able to adapt in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Able to successfully complete tasks as assigned in an efficient manner and within a reasonable amount of time; must take responsibility for and ownership of assigned tasks with demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly.
  • Able and willing to work overtime at month‑end and during the month if/when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with contacts across Finance, Engineering, Field Service, etc., with strong Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Alteryx / Tableau is a plus.
  • Travel if needed up to 5%.

This job is based in Oakville, Ontario. Siemens Energy offers a variety of benefits including health and wellness, paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position is $84,000 to $120,000.
