Role Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team at the Perle Oban Hotel & Spa on a full‑time, permanent basis (40 hours per week). This hands‑on role is responsible for supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the hotel. From guest rooms and public spaces to essential back‑of‑house systems, your work ensures the property is safe, functional, and maintained to high standards.
Responsibilities- Determine whether machinery, equipment and technical installations need repair and perform preventive maintenance.
- Maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen and HVAC systems and equipment.
- Identify appropriate remedial actions for mechanical and related equipment failures.
- Perform pre‑preventive maintenance (PPM) and residual circuit device checks (RCD) to an excellent standard.
- Carry out physically demanding tasks such as bending, climbing ladders, crawling into awkward places, standing or walking for extended periods.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and the Projects, Building & Estates Manager to keep preventative and maintenance priorities up to date and executed to a high standard.
- Practice health and safety measures at all times.
- Follow the hotel’s guest relations policy, including always politely addressing guests and ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within hospitality or a similar environment.
- Good all‑round maintenance knowledge, including electrical, plumbing and general repair work.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a practical, hands‑on approach.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider hotel team.
- Awareness of health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Salary of £30,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience.
