Summer Tour Guide​/Admissions Intern

Job Summary

Summer interns provide support to Admissions staff in areas related to prospective student recruitment.

The Office of Admissions hosts a high volume of visitors on campus during much of the summer. The summer interns will be expected to lead campus tours several times a day. In addition, Summer Interns responsibilities may include: interview prospective students and provide written review; participate in the daily information sessions led by an Admissions counselor; serve on student panels during special visit program days;

provide email support and clerical assistance; provide phone reception and reception desk support; work on special projects with Admissions counselor staff.

Note:

Successful Summer Interns may be invited to continue work with the admissions office during the 2026-27 year as a Tour Guide and/or Interviewer. Summer Interns who are also rising seniors and wish to be considered for the Senior Fellow position must apply separately.

Responsibilities

Both Part-Time and Full-Time positions are available (Monday-Saturdays). Part-Time Summer Tour Guide-only positions are also available. Please indicate your preference. Must be able to work Monday through Saturday. Full-Time positions are approx 35 hours/week.

Vacation days available during non-program weeks (unpaid vacation days). Must be approved by supervisor at least one month in advance.
* Note that vacation days for Summer Visit Days will not be approved.

Full time summer interns will be provided with on-campus housing.

Qualifications

Must have:

* Broad knowledge of the Oberlin campus and community

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to greet and mingle with visitors

* Adaptability and the ability to work with a team

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

* Must be reliable!
