Position: Admissions Senior Fellow 2026-27
Job Summary

The primary role of the Admissions Senior Fellows is to represent Oberlin College to visiting students and families by leading in-person and/or virtual admissions information sessions to prospective student visitors and their guests. Fellows will also conduct admissions interviews with prospective students and complete evaluation reports of these interviews. Additional office projects may be assigned, depending on the Fellow's interests and skill set.

Based on availability, Fellows may also be scheduled to work front desk reception and assist with administrative tasks, such as managing the admissions email account. All Fellows are expected to assist during campus visit programs and contribute to the social media/communications efforts of the admissions office.

Fellows will not only offer valuable student perspectives on Oberlin College to visiting students and their families but also will gain exposure and experience in all cycles of the college admissions process.

Responsibilities

Fellows will work a minimum of 5 hours and typically no more than 12 hours per week during the Academic year (including some or most Saturday mornings). Working at least one break (fall, winter term, or spring) is expected of each Fellow. Additionally, Fellows must be available to work some Saturday mornings, as well as several 1.5 hour shifts weekdays from 1-2:30pm, and Mondays and Fridays 8:30-10am.

Qualifications

Open to college rising seniors and rising fourth-year double degree students.

Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 is expected.

Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and reliability. Office/professional dress will be required during work shifts. Public speaking skills are also essential to this position.

Must have:

* Broad knowledge of the Oberlin campus and community

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to greet and mingle with visitors

* Adaptability and the ability to work with a team

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

* There will be mandatory trainings to take place during the week before fall semester begins.
