About the Role

Zenni Optical is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Obetz, Ohio. In this hands-on role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of optical manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will minimize downtime and support production goals by performing preventive and reactive maintenance tasks.

This role is ideal for individuals with a mechanical or electrical background who want to grow in a high-tech, fast-paced manufacturing environment. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys teamwork, continuous improvement, and making a direct impact on daily operations, this role is for you.

Shift: Friday - Sunday 6:00 a.m.

- 6:30 p.m. (availability for overtime as needed, including weekdays)
Compensation: $28 - $30/hour + $1.50 Shift Differential (based on applicable experience)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair a wide range of optical manufacturing equipment, balancing production support and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot in-line manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Diagnose equipment issues, identify faulty components, and perform repairs using standard electronic testing tools, technical documentation, and written/verbal instructions
  • Inspect, service, and repair production and support equipment using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum system technologies
Basic Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of ladder logic used in PLC systems—helpful for troubleshooting (programming knowledge not required)
  • Familiarity with robotic equipment controlled by PLCs and legacy relay logic systems
  • Experience operating or working around equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts
  • Ability to use a multimeter to measure voltage, resistance, and capacity, including working safely around 480V power systems
  • Proficiency with basic computer software for maintenance tracking and communication
  • Use of MCCS system to perform and document daily tasks
  • Monitor and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules—daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Experience with PM systems commonly used across industrial environments
  • Ability to use a tablet to access and review PM tasks within Zenni’s digital system
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures: secure energy sources including electrical, pneumatic, and spring-loaded systems
