About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Surface Operator II (Machine Operator) who is eager to learn and develop in the optical field onsite in Obetz, Ohio. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills and is open to feedback, with a willingness to grow their career. Light physical labor is required for handling frames and lenses, and the successful candidate will work with a supportive team to help customers purchase affordable glasses.
Location
Obetz, Ohio – brand new, climate‑controlled facility with free daily meals and snacks.
Shift
Friday – Sunday, 6:30 am – 6:30 pm (must be available for overtime as needed, including weekdays)
Compensation
Starting at $19.50 per hour (based on applicable experience)
Responsibilities- 3+ years of machine operating experience
- Calibration of machines
- Light maintenance and upkeep of equipment
- Troubleshooting root cause issues
- Ensure proper order flow throughout department
- Maintain good housekeeping, 6S
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met
- Adherence to all company policies, processes, and procedures (e.g., Health & Safety Awareness)
- Report to management on activities and issues
- Inter‑department coordination
- Ability to stand and move for duration of shift
- Strong organizational skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Proactive and able to identify and solve problems
- Follow instructions and production schedules
