Manager Accounting
Manager Accounting is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and ERP-driven financial processes. This role provides leadership to the accounting team and delivers operational and financial analysis to support plant and corporate decision-making.
Responsibilities include overseeing month-end close, serving as primary backup for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll processing, preparing consolidated and corporate financial reports, monitoring and analyzing intercompany transactions, managing physical inventory counts and reconciliations, leading cost accounting activities, developing and managing budgets and forecasts, providing operational and production efficiency analysis, supporting internal and external audits, leading an Oracle ERP system implementation, working on special projects for Finance and Accounting, analyzing financial trends, supervising, training, mentoring, and developing accounting staff, establishing and maintaining strong cross-functional and corporate working relationships, and performing additional duties and corporate requests as assigned.
Technical skills and key competencies include proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft 365 and BAAN, advanced Excel skills, strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and internal controls, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines, leadership and team development capabilities.
Qualifications and experience include a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility, experience in manufacturing and cost accounting is strongly preferred, and audit experience a plus.
Physical requirements include ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, occasional standing, walking, or moving about the office/warehouse, ability to lift or carry items up to 10–15 pounds, manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment, visual ability to read documents, screens, and reports, and clear verbal communication for meetings, phone calls, and presentations.
