Billing Intern is an internship within our Billing department, which provides clerical and customer service support for our billing team, and our internal and external business partners. The Intern will work with team members and logistics professionals to develop their customer service skills, as well as their knowledge, understanding and functional expertise in the logistics industry, while giving them exposure to a corporate environment.
Finance Intern responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:- Provide administrative support for the billing, settlement and collections teams
- Assist with receiving, sorting, date stamping and distributing of incoming mail
- Assist with prepping, scanning, and annotating documents
- Assist with stuffing envelopes, applying correct postage, and mailing documents
- Assist with data entry, processing, preparation, and reconciliation of paperwork, invoices, and bills, AP/AR
- Assist with clerical and telephone support; answering and directing telephone calls, and email correspondence to our internal and external business partners
- Assist with performing B2B commercial collections - nationwide
- Assist with daily verbal and written communication and follow-up for collection of payment with small to large customer accounts, documenting conversations in our system in detail
- Other clerical duties as assigned
- Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or another related field
- High School student participating in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, as well as internet applications
Previous customer service or administrative office experience a plus - Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to answer and route multiple phone calls while staying on task
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
