JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing administrative and budget support and performing advanced and complex work in managing and maintaining the assigned projects, processes, and tracking and reporting requirements of the department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintains and complies to the payment processing policies, procedures, and related changes in organizational and administrative support for the Department, as directed by a supervisor or manager.

• Performs in depth review and analysis according to direction.

• Conducts research, compiles facts, analyzes data, and develops recommendations, observations,or summaries, when directed.

• Reviews and processes all invoices, procurement receipts and payments, requisitions, journal entries, and credit card receipts.

• Develops and submits written and oral reports on a variety of special assignments relating to County government as directed.

• Ensures that the payments made during the year follow accounting standards and adheres to the annually adopted budget.

• Participates in reviewing and keeping compliant to the budget.

• Confers with operating officials on budget matters.

• Attends meetings and may serve as departmental representative at meetings.

• Reads and interprets large volumes of written materials, financial data, technical materials, and federal, state, and county statutes, rules, and ordinances.

• Coordinates and adheres to operational and administrative processes, projects, and special assignments according to the area of assignment and as directed.

• Coordinates with vendors relating to contract compliance and correct invoicing in adherence to the adopted budget by monitoring and complying with regulatory guidelines and standards for functional areas under charge.

Provides excellent customer service to members of the general public, vendors and other County employees. Personal contact occurs with other employees of the unit, employees of other departments in the County, citizens, and customers of the department. Service is provided in person or by phone contact.

• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; and three (3) years' experience in coordinating, managing, and tracking accounts and budgets; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications:



Possession of a valid, State of Florida driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

• Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards.

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Ability to interpret complex and detailed technical data.

• Ability to potentially participate in development of policy, programs, plans, or procedures.

• Ability to study manual work processes to determine most effective methods for essential tasks.

• Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of public administration.

• Knowledge of government organization and administration and of the legal basis of government.
