Ingersoll Rand, an international corporation with locations throughout the world, has an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Manager in our Industrial Technologies & Services Group, Americas. The Sourcing Manager is a key role in support of strategic sourcing initiatives in an aftermarket‑distribution environment and is responsible for developing and driving sourcing projects to achieve savings goals. Negotiates key terms with suppliers, develops new suppliers, and improves quality, delivery and cost results with existing suppliers.
Communicates in a timely and effective manner with internal customers regarding key initiatives. This role reports to the Sourcing Director.
- Identify, drive, and manage projects to reduce costs of supplied materials and achieve savings goals.
- Continuously look for new savings opportunities through analysis of data (spend, purchase price variance, etc.) and hands‑on review of materials in the production areas.
- Create and maintain a savings project deck to effectively manage projects. Lead regular meetings with a cross‑functional team to review the deck and drive projects to timely completion.
- Identify and develop new suppliers and improve the value‑added level of existing suppliers in support of savings, quality, delivery and lead time reduction initiatives.
- Monitor purchase price variances and resolve discrepancies with internal team members and suppliers.
- Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) process with all stakeholders.
- Work with suppliers and internal team members to qualify new parts.
- Negotiate key items with suppliers including pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs.
- Record and track information as required for timely and accurate measurement of performance regarding sourcing activities and savings.
- Keep generally abreast of market trends, commodity pricing, and both domestic and international events that might impact supplier pricing.
- Work with suppliers to address significant and/or systemic issues with performance (quality, delivery, warranty, etc.) as may be required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and participate in special projects as required.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing/supply chain/procurement in a manufacturing and/or aftermarket‑distribution environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
- Experience with establishing supply chain for aftermarket, quick‑turnaround parts with a focus on packaging.
