OPAV seeks a highly motivated Audiovisual Technician in the Ocala, Northern Central Florida area, with a positive, client-focused demeanor. The primary responsibilities include the professional setup, operation, and teardown of audiovisual equipment, alongside delivering world‑class customer service to clients, hotel partners, and team members. The ideal candidate must be adept at multitasking and thrive in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Flexibility in scheduling and deployment across our In‑House Venues is required to meet dynamic business needs.
The In‑House Audiovisual Technician is responsible for the following duties. This includes but is not limited to:
- Execute professional setup, operation, and teardown of audiovisual equipment across various in‑house venue spaces in accordance with OPAV and venue standards.
- Provide world‑class customer service and maintain continuous communication to ensure client needs are met, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience.
- Conduct client training on effective equipment operation to ensure successful event outcomes and goal attainment.
- Uphold a positive, professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, customers, industry partners, and the community.
- Strictly manage inventory control processes, including storage, tracking, casing, cleaning, and general maintenance of equipment.
- Comply with all safety and security protocols safeguarding all OPAV equipment and assets against theft or damage, immediately reporting any missing or compromised items to the appropriate OPAV Manager.
- Ensure strict compliance with all OPAV and venue policies and procedures, including those related to professional grooming and work expectations.
- Continually work toward enhancing and improving relevant technical skills especially audio, video, lighting, computer operation and networking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all OPAV storage and break areas.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, including standing and sitting, for extended periods during event setup, operation, strike, and warehouse activities.
- Ability to move throughout hotels, convention centers, meeting spaces, loading docks, backstage areas, and other event venues for prolonged periods, including walking long distances, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven surfaces.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and position audiovisual equipment, cables, cases, and related materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to safely move equipment weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance, team‑lift procedures, or approved material‑handling equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, climbing, and working at varying heights using ladders, lifts, and staging platforms while following safety protocols.
- Ability to use hands and arms continuously to operate, install, connect, position, adjust, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, including audio, video, lighting, rigging, scenic and production systems.
