Worship Director / Pastor Overview
The Worship Director or Worship Pastor will plan, lead, and oversee all musical and technical aspects of church services for Christ’s Church Ocala. Key duties include recruiting and training volunteer musicians, scheduling, selecting music, and collaborating with pastors on preaching themes.
Key Responsibilities Worship LeadershipLeading musical worship from the stage during services and special events prompting participation and promoting a culture of discipleship. Share the good news of Jesus in a clear and creative way to both those inside and outside the church.
Team DevelopmentRecruiting, auditioning, training, and encouraging volunteer musicians and vocalists. This role is pivotal in identifying and developing talent while also encouraging the very best in performance. Conducting weekly rehearsals to ensure quality.
Service PlanningCollaborating with the lead pastor to develop setlists consistent with message themes along with organizing music, and scheduling volunteers through Planning Center.
Production and Technical OversightCoordinating sound, lighting, visual production through Pro Presenter, and managing the online streaming of services.
Pastoral CarePromote service and lovingly challenge and encourage others in their walk with the Lord.
Multi-Generational SupportCollaborate with youth leadership to actively involve or develop interested youth for music performance or services production.
Additional support and responsibilities as needed.
Talents, Gifts, and AttributesThe Worship Leader / Pastor should be highly relational with those in the church as well as within the community.
Qualifications and Requirements- Music Proficiency: Strong vocal ability, knowledge of music theory, and competence on a lead instrument.
- Professional and Educational: A degree in music, ministry, theology or related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with digital sound systems, audio engineering, and live production.
- Leadership: Ability to lead both volunteers and others in creating a dynamic worship experience. Ability to lead with grace and humility.
- Organizational
Skills:
The ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple programs and responsibilities using Planning Center, Pro Presenter, and MS 365. - Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with other church staff and volunteers.
