- Properly and efficiently check guests into the hotel and assist with check-in/check-out using the computer system.
- Input rooming lists and transportation requests; manage the Front Desk Outlook mailbox and respond accordingly.
- Assist guests as requested, handle cash, answer telephones, and make reservations; sell rooms and hotel services; send correspondence to guests.
- Set up reservations and provide a pleasant, professional guest experience.
- Maintain a neat appearance and professional demeanor; adhere to grooming standards.
- Demonstrate a positive, upbeat personality with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
- Multitask, be detail-oriented, and problem-solve effectively for internal and external customers.
- Operate computer systems with basic IT and AV knowledge; assist with basic room availability information for private events when needed.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Knowledge of proper guest service etiquette and standards.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to take direction; professional communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure; self-motivated, organized, and capable of problem solving.
- Professional appearance; good grammar; strong verbal skills; legible handwriting; pleasant phone voice.
- Basic understanding of guest needs and methods of servicing to guest satisfaction; adaptable to change.
- Facilities knowledge (engineering basics – heating/cooling systems, televisions) and understanding of life safety systems and emergency procedures.
- AV and IT knowledge (e.g., Micros, Room Master, Sales Pro; basic information about room availability for private events; ability to re-set Wi-Fi router if needed).
- Stand for up to 8 hours; may need to stand/walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Lift up to 25 pounds; talk and hear.
