Dental Hygienist – School Based Sealant Program Responsibilities

  • Serve as a dental hygienist in the School Based Sealant program.
  • Provide dental assessments and take pictures of the interior of students’ mouths for tele‑dentistry.
  • Educate students on oral hygiene techniques.
  • Apply fluoride varnish treatments and dental sealants.
Qualifications
  • Clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license.
  • Current/active CPR certificate.
  • Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of dental terminology.
  • Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices.
  • Skills in using dental instruments and performing dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planning.
  • Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Time‑management skills to treat an adequate number of patients in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants, and volunteers to promote teamwork and improve the health of Marion County residents.
Work Information

Work location:

1501 W. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34475 or alternating school site locations.

Work timings:
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.

- 5 p.m.

Pay rate: $23.62/hour, 40‑hour work week.
