The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a physician leader to serve as Medical Director at the UF Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital – Emergency Department. This role combines clinical practice with site department leadership, guiding a growing team of Emergency Medicine physicians as they deliver the full scope of emergency care under a novel, community-focused care model.

As the primary referral center for North Central Florida, our institution stands as a beacon of excellence in healthcare. • Estimated fewer than 20,000 visits per year
• Single attending physician coverage with additional APP mid-shift coverage
• Facilitated transfer protocols for patients requiring a higher level of care
• Affiliation with an academic emergency department and the UF College of Medicine

• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and quality of care within the department
• Build and sustain a collaborative, high-performing team of physicians and clinical support staff
• Address physician performance and behavioral concerns directly and constructively
• Serve as a key liaison with hospital administration and department leadership
• Guide the department through growth and operational transitions as the Microhospital scales
• Champion a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence in patient care
