Trinity Catholic High School prepares students for life after high school by teaching them virtue and knowledge as they will need to be contributing members of society based on the Gospel message and Roman Catholic teaching. Trinity Catholic High School located in Ocala, Florida, serves families in the 9th–12th grades.

The four-year program of religion courses is a primary element within the larger program of faith formation  mission is to graduate students that have deepened their relationship with Jesus Christ and who are prepared to faithfully live out their Catholic faith as adults in our contemporary world. TCHS follows the Diocese of Orlando Curriculum Standards for Religion, which are aligned to the USCCB Catechetical Framework for high schools;

teachers are expected to design and teach their own courses which achieve these standards. The religion curriculum is focused on the formation of virtues necessary for students to grow in their relationship with God and to understand and live the Catholic faith in the fullest depth of its expression. A religion teacher at TCHS should anticipate responsibilities that include ministries besides teaching, for example, planning and leading class retreats as part of a team, leading student Bible studies, or small groups as part of the discipleship-focused campus ministry program, helping leading student service projects or charity drives, etc.

Our religion teachers work with the Campus Minister as an integral part of our student's spiritual formation.

We are currently accepting resumes from qualified individuals to teach high school religion full-time during the the  school year. Specific courses are flexible, and the specific teaching assignment will depend on the successful candidate’s background and the school’s needs. Teachers should be prepared to teach in some/all of the following areas: morality, scripture, dogmatics particularly Christology and ecclesiology, sacraments, social justice, and world religions.

Requirements
  • Have an understanding that TC is a Catholic High School and an appreciation and commitment to upholding the Catholic spiritual and intellectual traditions as they are the foundation of all things at the school.
  • Exemplify commitment to the spiritual life through daily personal prayer as well as frequent participation in the Sacraments; and will be able to model, teach, and form the same in their students.
  • Demonstrate strong skills for relational ministry; will provide a compelling and relatable personal witness for high school students, will be able to make course material relevant and compelling to students' lives, and will build healthy relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Applicants must be a faithful practicing Catholic.
  • A Master's level degree in Theology is preferred; relevant experience may be substituted for some education, so long as the applicant demonstrates a strong background in theology. A non-degree-related catechetical or theological formation may also be considered.
  • Prior experience teaching religion at the high school level is preferred; teaching experience at other grade levels or in other subject areas will also be considered.
  • Valid Florida teacher certification or eligibility to be certified is considered a plus.
  • Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check.
  • Upon employment, the individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.

  • To use the designated curriculum, assigned textbooks/e-books and materials, and to observe, enforce, and implement the policies and regulations prescribed by the faculty and student handbooks.
  • Demonstrate curriculum knowledge and the ability to follow standards-based instruction in a resourceful manner, to plan and deliver engaging learning opportunities and activities for maximum effectiveness.
