Adjunct - Nursing

Taylor College, located in Ocala, Florida is currently accepting resumes for an Adjunct Clinical Instructor. Candidates must have a current Florida RN license and a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

The responsibilities of the Nursing Faculty are to develop a healthy and caring environment that offers a variety of opportunities for active participation by the students in the learning process. Major responsibilities of faculty include teaching, tutoring, and professional development.

• Plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
• Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self‑improvement and/or professional enhancement.
• Assign, guide, supervise, and evaluate students’ performance in giving care to selected patients/residents.
• Complete instructor ATI training modules within specified time and complete Proctor ATI exams.

• Support student activities, including course and career guidance to students, mentorship, graduation, and foster a love of learning.
• Demonstrate procedures in the nursing skills laboratory, supervise student demonstrations and evaluate student performances.
• Orient students to the clinical site and communicate clinical objectives to the student and the staff.
• Write anecdotal progress notes and clinical evaluations of student performance. Act as student advocate.

• Provide required forms and papers to the Registrar’s Office within the specified timeframe.
• Maintain appropriate records of student performance and integrate theory with planned clinical performance.
• Ensure College compliance with regulatory boards including licensure and accreditation.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in the nursing field.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).

• Five recent years in a clinical setting.
• At least two years of full‑time experience as an educator. Ability to travel to and from clinical or class sites.
• Ability to implement nursing faculty meeting minutes.
• Experience with presenting information to both small and large groups.
• Proven strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve goals, influence others, and meet deadlines. Proficient in computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Adobe). Must be able to multi‑task.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

• Active Registered Nurses license (RN) or eligibility to be licensed in Florida.
• Maintain Continuing Education Hours as required.

• Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
• Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid). Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to access file cabinets for filing and retrieval of data.
• Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time and access input and retrieve information from a computer.
• Ability to actively demonstrate and participate in the skills laboratory and clinical without physical limitations.

• Works inside a classroom/laboratory environment.
• Clinical sites at various locations.

• Nursing Program Director.
