Lead Estimator

We’re a well-established mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and process piping for commercial and industrial projects throughout Central Florida. Our team is known for strong technical work, consistent execution, and delivering solutions built to last.

We’re hiring a Lead Estimator to oversee the full bidding and preconstruction process for mechanical projects. In this role, you’ll lead estimating efforts from early concept through closeout - completing take-offs, evaluating costs, building competitive proposals, and guiding a team of estimators.

This is a leadership seat for someone who understands the mechanical construction process, enjoys the strategy behind winning work, and brings accuracy and accountability to every number.

• Lead estimating for HVAC, plumbing, and process piping projects from start to finish.
• Perform and review detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and scope alignment.
• Develop complete cost estimates and bid proposals alongside project teams.
• Build and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships to support strong pricing.
• Identify value engineering options and practical cost-saving approaches.
• Mentor junior estimators and manage team workflows to keep quality consistent.
• Prepare budgets, cash flow projections, and support preconstruction planning.

• Several years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, plumbing, and/or process piping).
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Experience with estimating tools like Accubid, Plan Swift, Trimble, or similar platforms.
• Comfortable collaborating with general contractors, engineers, and project managers.
• High attention to detail with strong organization and communication skills.
• A leadership mindset and interest in coaching and developing others.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
