This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.
GeneralJob Summary
We have immediate openings for a Developing level Manufacturing Operations Engineer with 2 to 5 years of related or similar turbo machinery, gas engine experience, jet engine, automotive, and related background. The role offers increasing responsibility and growth toward becoming either a technical expert or IPT Lead.
Responsibilities- Support integrated product teams (IPTs) by setting up and maintaining Bills of Materials (BoMs), managing internal and external manufacturing-related activities, and maintaining external supplier relationships.
- Interface with Quality Engineering to ensure products and non-products comply with company quality procedures and disposition non-conforming material.
- Serve as interface between purchasing, design, manufacturing, and quality.
- Set and execute project schedules, provide weekly status, and determine solutions for non-conformances.
- Interact with suppliers and document lessons learned for improved design-for-manufacturing.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Basic understanding of project and manufacturing engineering to support projects with requirements related to manufactured hardware.
- A background in metallurgy, joining operations, coatings, and additive manufacturing techniques is a plus but can be learned on the job.
- Understanding of fundamentals of turbo machinery and importance of interfacing rotating/static hardware as it relates to engine operation.
- Ability to interpret models and drawings (CAD skills preferable).
- Ability to work with suppliers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers.
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of similar engine experience in engines, automotive, jet engines, or related field
- Office and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboard, mouse, tools/equipment).
- Travel as applicable.
