Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent professional engineering experience
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- 3+ years of professional experience with a Bachelors
You will be the Manufacturing Engineer for Ocala Operations. At Lockheed Martin, you can build a career out of making things happen! Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit card, wiring harnesses, and electro-assemblies. Ocala specializes in both low volume – high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing.
Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.
- Candidate shall be able to develop and implement Manufacturing Process Plans for a variety of electronic, cables & harness and electromechanical assemblies, including material and process specifications.
- Utilize basic drafting and software programs to develop process plans, tooling, support equipment, process flows.
- Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce cost and increase yields.
- Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.
- Green Belt or Black Belt Trained in Lean Six Sigma
- Cable and Harness manufacturing experience in accordance with specification IPC-WHMA-A-620
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Experience with Non-Recurring Engineering
- Ability to lead and train peers
- Familiarity with Windchill and MPMLink
- Detail oriented personality
- Excellent process development and documentation skills (MS Office)
- Experienced with visual based work instructions (creating and providing feedback)
- Ability to use CAD software (Creo and AutoCAD preferred)
- Experience working with benchtop cable and harness equipment (wire strippers, Cirris testers, automatic crimpers, etc.)
