Plant Electrical Engineer — Instrumentation & Controls
Ocala, FL Area | $90K–$140K Base + Benefits + Relocation Assistance
We’ve partnered with a stable manufacturing organization seeking an Plant Electrical Engineer — Instrumentation & Controls to support a plant‑based operation in North Central Florida.
This is a hands‑on technical role for someone who enjoys solving real plant issues — electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, control systems, reliability, and downtime reduction. The right person will serve as a key technical resource for the plant while also helping coach and support a small technician team.
What You’ll Be Doing- Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and controls issues in a live plant environment
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, field instrumentation, sensors, and control systems
- Support reliability improvements, root‑cause analysis, and downtime reduction
- Help improve preventive maintenance, troubleshooting procedures, and documentation
Support calibration, loop checks, and instrumentation‑related plant needs - Partner with maintenance, engineering, operations, and plant leadership
- Coach and support a small team of electrical / I&E technicians
- Help maintain safe electrical and plant maintenance practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field required
- Hands‑on plant experience with electrical, instrumentation, controls, or reliability
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, field instrumentation, and electrical troubleshooting
- Manufacturing, chemical, oil & gas, pulp/paper, utilities, food/beverage, pharma, or heavy industrial background preferred
- 4+ years of team lead, supervisory, or technician mentoring experience
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and comfort being a technical subject matter expert
