This is a civil engineering position that will be highly responsible for the management of capital construction projects performed throughout the City and associated work for the Capital Projects Division. The position involves supervision of Capital Projects Inspectors. Manager I reports to assigned Capital Projects Manager II.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED required
- Two (2) years of college or trade school
- Eight (8) years related experience and/or training.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida operator's driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must obtain FEMA certifications IS-00200.b and IS-00800.b – within 12 months of hire.
- Must obtain APWA CPII certification – within 24 months of hire.
- Must obtain CMIT certification – within 24 months of hire.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises 2 non-supervisory employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Communication SkillsAbility to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Critical Thinking SkillsAbility to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
