About This Job

As a Customer Specialist, you will provide an iconic experience for our customers by guiding and supporting them throughout their Car Max journey. You will collaborate across teams to ensure a positive experience buying and selling cars.

What You Will Do – Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, guiding customers from sale or appraisal to test drives and financing applications.
  • Conduct vehicle condition assessments, collecting and communicating information for appraisal.
  • Check in and receive vehicles shipped to Car Max; complete daily scanning and inventory reconciliation.
  • Perform cosmetic inspections to ensure vehicles meet Car Max Quality Standards.
  • Handle administrative duties, including printing daily reports, maintaining transaction paperwork, contacting finance companies, obtaining registration or titling information, auditing paperwork, and cash/payment management.
  • Create service appointments and review repair order invoices for retail service work, ensuring accurate documentation for billing.
Purpose of the role

This high-energy retail sales environment requires building rapport quickly, understanding customer needs, and managing tasks such as vehicle sales, sales paperwork processing, appraisal assessments, and repair order management. The role supports teamwork and allows growth toward mentorship and leadership.

  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
Education And/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Sales and customer service experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
