Relationship Specialist

Position Overview

Relationship Specialist I – responsible for delivering exceptional member experiences in-person and over the phone, building and maintaining consumer and business relationships, and effectively cross‑selling VyStar Credit Union solutions.

• Provide outstanding member experiences in every interaction, from greeting to closing the relationship.
• Identify member cues and ask open‑ended discovery questions to uncover member needs.
• Position and cross‑sell credit union deposit, credit, insurance, and investment solutions appropriately.
• Handle personal and business account transactions, open accounts, and process loan applications.
• Explain basic credit and savings options; effectively refer complex products such as mortgages, investments, and insurance.
• Provide additional services including account maintenance, notary, wire transfer, savings bond redemption, safe deposit box services, fraud claims, and credit card disputes.
• Support and participate in Credit Union initiatives and campaigns.
• Exercise sound judgment and discretion while remaining compliant with limits and guidelines.
• Work independently to accomplish tasks and resolve member problems, seeking positive outcomes and escalating only when necessary.
• Exhibit integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism with members and partners.
• Maintain a positive professional attitude and an outgoing, friendly demeanor.
• Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills and all available relationship‑building tools.
• Engage proactively with members through outbound calls to understand needs and close sales, effectively addressing objections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting a healthy risk culture and compliance with regulatory mandates.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in sales and/or customer service, community service, or military service preferred; experience with a financial institution is a plus.
