Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant – Injection Preparer to support a fast-paced medical practice focused on procedural and patient-centered care. This role plays a critical part in both clinical and administrative functions, including patient intake, injection preparation, procedure support, and post-procedure follow-up. The ideal candidate is comfortable working hands-on with patients, assisting providers during procedures, and maintaining a highly organized clinical environment.
This position requires travel to Clermont and Gainesville offices once a week (alternating) and work every other Saturday.
Responsibilities- Prepare and assist with injections and in-office procedures under physician supervision
- Position C-Arm equipment for provider use
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including taking vitals and documenting medical history
- Perform patient intake, rooming, and post-procedure follow-up documentation
- Remove staples and sutures; assist with casts and durable medical equipment
- Prepare treatment and examination rooms before and after patient visits
- Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure equipment readiness
- Perform medication reviews and reconciliation; document allergies and discontinued medications
- Schedule in-office procedures and prepare charts, consent forms, and pre-admission documentation
- Prepare clinic schedules and required reports for upcoming provider visits
- Direct incoming faxes and mail to appropriate staff members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical workspace
- Communicate physician instructions and procedure guidance to patients
- Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all federal, state, and local regulations
- Support overall clinic operations by performing additional related duties as assigned
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with EHR systems, specifically Athena and eClinical
Works (eCW) - Strong patient care and customer service skills
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to accurately perform intake procedures and record vital signs
- Prior experience in a procedural office or hospital setting required
- Spine And Pain Management Experience Strongly Preferred
- Experience in inpatient, outpatient, trauma centers (Level I & II), emergency medicine, OR, PICU, geriatrics, or imaging environments is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a clinical setting
- Must be willing to travel to Clermont and Gainesville offices once a week (alternating) and work every other Saturday
