We have an immediate opening for a medical assistant in a fast-paced private neurosurgery practice. Hours of operation are typically 8:30 am-4:30PM Monday through Friday; however, it varies depending on our patients' needs (including nights and weekends). We offer competitive hourly rates and health insurance. The compensation varies based on work history. Seeking dedicated individuals who will be key employees as we grow and evolve.
Primaryresponsibilities are, but are not limited to:
- Providing a safe and therapeutic environment for daily treatment sessions.
- Effectively interacts with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare workers.
- Participate in the insurance authorization process, track visits, schedule patient appointments, & coordinate care.
- Demonstrate a high level of flexibility to meet patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Provide educational consultations to interested patients.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Office administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, and handling all medical records in compliance with HIPAA.
- Assist surgeon in procedures.
- Review medical history, current medications, current symptoms, and take vitals.
- Must react calmly in emergency situations and make appropriate and timely decisions.
- This position requires travel to all our locations (Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, Boca, Hollywood, & Stuart).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- A positive, nonjudgmental, unbiased demeanor is critical.
- Good attention to detail and maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Displays a "patient first" mentality.
- Self-starter and self-manager.
- Exemplifies strong work ethic and operates with the highest level of integrity inside & outside of the office.
- Courteous & respectful attitude with all patients, staff, and doctors.
- Physically able to walk, stand, stoop, and bend.
- Associates Degree.
- CPR/AED certified.
- Fluent in Spanish.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification.
- Radiology Technician Certification.
- Orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, or pain management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ECW
