Job Description- Fully In Person - Supports OBGYN office
- Shift: Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM
- Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow‑up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
- Accompanies the physician into the patient examination room to transcribe a history and physical exam.
- Documents accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.
- Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Documents any procedures performed by the physician.
- Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
- Effectively copes with typical job stress.
- Documents work processes as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details. [Required]
- Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications. [Required]
- Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information. [Required]

- Proficiency in typing and excellent spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication skills. [Required]
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion. [Required]
- Excellent English composition skills required to generate professional, polished writing at a high rate of production. [Required]
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to accurately transcribe dictated reports and translate medical abbreviations into their expanded forms. [Required]
- Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Prepare and interpret charts and graphs; compute ratio and percent. [Required] - Reasoning ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; apply logic and draw conclusions based on knowledge; refer to reference materials to solve problems. [Required] - Advanced computer skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare correspondence, medical reports, flowcharts, and organize data; use the internet for research and access schedules; accurately enter data into a database and manage email and attachments. [Required] - Compliance with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information. [Required]
