- At least one year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- ARRT Certification
- Other certifications and licenses as required for this position
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include preparing patients, positioning them with safety and image accuracy, ensuring proper imaging protocols, and collaborating with radiologists to obtain high‑quality images. The CT Tech also maintains equipment, records, and follows safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure and provide compassionate care.
Essential Work Functions- Operate CT equipment to produce high‑quality cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue.
- Prepare and explain procedures to patients, and position them appropriately.
- Set technical parameters that accurately represent anatomy and pathology.
- Submit high‑quality images to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot CT equipment.
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
- Advanced English reading, writing, and verbal communication.
- Ability to interpret written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal ability to work effectively with a range of personnel.
- Technical/motor skill to perform fine manipulation and use department equipment.
- Mental ability to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and work with irregular schedules.
