Job Description:Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Other duties as assigned. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Obtains scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Gowns and gloves the surgeon and assistants. Assists in draping the sterile field. Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure. Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.

- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required]
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required]
- Laser skills/training [Required]
- Able to precept and act as resource person and preceptor in multiple surgical specialties [Preferred]
- Minimum of one year scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service [Required]
- Demonstrated specialization in one or more surgical areas as determined by Director [Required]
- Proficient in the English language [Required]
- Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Required]
- Proficient in a minimum of 3 major surgical specialties [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Technical/Vocational School [Required]
- Associate [Preferred]
- 1+ years of experience as certified surgical tech required
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]
Physical Requirements -
Pay Range: $23.71 - $44.09
