The Medical Assistant is adaptable, dependable, and eager to advance their clinical careers. As an essential member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant will provide both administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. The MA should deliver high‑quality, compassionate patient care, enhancing clinic efficiency, and contributing to an outstanding patient experience. This position also offers the opportunity to be cross‑trained in patient registration and medical records support, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Live and exemplify TOI core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members.
- Participate in company initiatives and team activities.
- Responsible for documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) system(s).
- Request external medical records and prepare patient charts prior to appointments.
- Perform and document patient vital signs.
- Complete review of systems and intake documentation.
- Prepare patients for physician care.
- Administer basic first aid.
- Perform venipunctures and non‑intravenous injections.
- Perform basic laboratory procedures.
- Observe and report patients’ signs or symptoms.
- Serve as a chaperone in patient examinations as needed.
- Assist with patient examinations, procedures, or treatments.
- Administer certain medications as directed by the physician.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in completing blood draws and processing labs.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Diploma program from an accredited educational institute. Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, not required.
- Two years of experience working as a Medical Assistant or related role in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting is preferred.
- BLS and CPR certification preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
This position involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, performance of precise tasks such as drawing blood and administering medications, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and acute hearing are essential for reading charts and monitoring patients. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are critical, especially under stress. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive tasks are also required, along with sensitivity to patient needs and environmental changes.
Hourly Compensation: $18–$21 USD.
