Position Overview

Princeton Staffing Solutions is hiring a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school‑based special education setting. In this role, you will assist licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing therapy plans that promote student participation, independence, and success across school environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in evaluating students’ developmental needs under the supervision of a licensed OT
  • Carry out individualized treatment plans focused on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self‑care, and coordination
  • Document student progress and adjust interventions as directed by the supervising OT
  • Support students during classroom tasks and adapt materials to meet diverse needs
  • Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions to foster social and functional skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to reinforce therapy goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of student goals
  • Educate parents and educators on tools and techniques to support therapy outside of sessions
  • Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and school district policies
  • Stay updated on current pediatric therapy practices and apply evidence‑based strategies
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • National certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • School‑based experience preferred, but not required
