Princeton Staffing Solutions is hiring a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school‑based special education setting. In this role, you will assist licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing therapy plans that promote student participation, independence, and success across school environments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in evaluating students’ developmental needs under the supervision of a licensed OT
- Carry out individualized treatment plans focused on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self‑care, and coordination
- Document student progress and adjust interventions as directed by the supervising OT
- Support students during classroom tasks and adapt materials to meet diverse needs
- Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions to foster social and functional skills
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to reinforce therapy goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of student goals
- Educate parents and educators on tools and techniques to support therapy outside of sessions
- Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and school district policies
- Stay updated on current pediatric therapy practices and apply evidence‑based strategies
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- National certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- School‑based experience preferred, but not required
