Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat patients with communication, speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while adapting to different healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, voice, cognition, and communication disorders.
- Assess and treat dysphagia and swallowing-related conditions.
- Recommend appropriate communication strategies, assistive devices, and adaptive equipment.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, exercises, communication strategies, and safe swallowing techniques.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adapt quickly to new facilities, clinical workflows, and patient populations.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of practice.
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred/required as applicable.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Speech-Language Pathology experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent communication, clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
- Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, SNF, outpatient, home health, or long-term care settings.
- Experience with dysphagia evaluation and treatment, including instrumental assessments, preferred.
- Experience treating neurological, stroke, post-surgical, geriatric, or medically complex patients.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments.
