Job SummaryPrimary function is to organize and direct the day-to-day operations of the Agency, to be responsible for implementation and supervision of administrative policies and administratively supervising the provision of all services.
Job QualificationsEducation:
Must be a licensed physician or a registered nurse, or hold an undergraduate degree, have a Certification for Home Health Administrator.
Experience:
Have experience in health service administration, with at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health or a health-related setting.
Skills:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff.
Works in an office environment, promoting efficient functioning and coordination of all the Agency activities to ensure the highest level of professional patient/client care. Ability to work a flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.
Physical and Mental EffortProlonged sitting is required. Requires ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner at all times. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and the Agency needs.
Essential FunctionsMaintains an ongoing liaison with the Governing Body, staff members, and the community. The Administrator or Alternate Administrator will be available during the Agency's operating hours. Ensures that a Clinical Manager is available during all operating hours. Organizes and directs the Agency's ongoing functions. Ensures the Agency, including any branches, comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulatory agencies related to the health and safety of patients/clients.
Acts on reports and recommendations of any authorized planning, regulatory, or inspection agencies. Ensures education and availability of applicable regulations to all agency staff, including contractual providers. Ensures completion, maintenance, and submission of required reports. Ensures that the organization employs or contracts with qualified personnel. Ensures the development of personnel qualifications and policies. Ensures adequate staff education and evaluations. Ensures the accuracy of public information materials and activities.
Implements an effective budgeting and accounting system that promotes the health and safety of the Agency's patients/clients. Maintains a current organizational chart to show lines of authority down to the patient/client level. Has responsibility and authority for the administrative and leadership functions of the Agency. Assures Agency practices are consistent with written Agency policies.
