Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Ocala FL 34471

Duration: 2 months contract to hire

Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Monday-Saturday (Schedule Varies)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II - Float to join our Patient Services team in the Miami, FL area. As the face of the organization, you will provide exceptional patient care while performing venipuncture and specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. This position requires traveling between multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and physician offices based on business needs.

The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and experienced in pediatric, adult, and geriatric specimen collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary, and specimen collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Collect, label, process, package, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections while maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are accurately labeled in the patient's presence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by explaining collection procedures and helping patients feel comfortable.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following OSHA and infection control guidelines.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and turnaround time expectations.
  • Travel to multiple Patient Service Centers and physician offices as scheduled.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Area Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in CA, NV, and WA).
  • 1-3 years of recent phlebotomy experience required.
  • Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections is required.
  • Previous Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
  • Strong specimen collection, processing, labeling, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer and keyboard/data entry proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
